We recommend reviewing your settings and instructions for any job that has been sitting on one of the Editor Job Boards for a significant amount of time without being picked up by an editor.
You might try one or more of the following:
- Repost to the job board, and increase or change the categories of editors that can see your job. If the categories are very narrow, try choosing the next higher category level, or open it to all categories of editors.
- Open it to the next level of editors by their star rating. Especially if you have limited the job to only 5 star editors, consider opening it to 4 stars as well.
- Raise the price. Because this is a marketplace, certain types of jobs might go for a higher price. If there are a lot of jobs on the board you might also need to raise your price to compete.
- Ask for help – we have live chat available if you need help determining what changes might be best for your job.
- Review your editor instructions to be sure they are clear
- View the writer's version — if the writer did a poor job, editors might be hesitant to take on the job. Consider canceling the editing service (at least temporarily) so you can request a revision from the writer or decline the writer and find another writer to try again — then you can hire an editor after the writer has fixed it up.
